Community Meeting Day - Pie for Breakfast

Join us for Morristown's 4th annual Pie for Breakfast event, a delightful new tradition designed to strengthen our community spirit!

This exciting gathering will take place on the **second Saturday morning of January** each year as part of the newly established **Community Meeting Day**.

The event will feature all the elements of our annual town meeting, minus the voting, which will now be conducted via ballot. Attendees can indulge in a wide variety of pies—both sweet and savory—ranging from homemade to store-bought, all available for enjoyment. In addition to the delicious pies, Community Meeting Day will showcase over a dozen local organizations presenting three-minute pitches seeking financial support. These groups represent vital sectors including healthcare, housing, family and youth services, and animal adoption.

We are thrilled to announce that Shap Smith, former Speaker of the House and current town moderator of Morristown, will be present to engage with the community. Despite changes in voting procedures, this event exemplifies how we can come together as a community. The Vermont Secretary of State’s office recognizes that towns across Vermont are adapting to new voting methods while striving to maintain direct democracy. Events like our Community Meeting Day are essential in preserving community engagement during these transitions.

**And, for the first time, we will reveal the Town Report dedication during this event!!!** This special moment will add to the excitement and community spirit of the day.

Mark your calendars and join us for a morning filled with great food, community connection, and celebration!
