The Morristown EMS Department is a career paramedic, AEMT, EMT department staffed exclusively by fully paid professional personnel. It serves residents of Morristown and several surrounding communities in Lamoille County, Vermont, responding to approximately 960 calls per year.
Operational and Staffing Highlights
- Full-time Staff: 8, on a 24-hour-on/72-hour-off workweek.
- Supplemental Staff: Per Diem EMT, AEMT, and Paramedic providers.
- Coverage Area: Morristown, Elmore, and part of Wolcott.
- Units in Service: Two ALS ambulances, available at all times from a station near Copley Hospital.
- Response Volume: ~960 annual calls, or an average of 3 calls per day.
- Response Time: Well under 8 minutes average from dispatch to arrival.
- Credentialing: All clinical staff are National Registry and Vermont-licensed at EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic level.
- ALS and Paramedic Coverage: 24/7 ALS with at least one Paramedic on the truck at any given time.
This structure supports timely, advanced care throughout the district and demonstrates a high standard of EMS service for the region.
